Democratic Party candidate for Governor Fred Hubbell made a campaign stop at Corigliano’s Pizza in Knoxville today, joined alongside running mate State Senator Rita Hart and House District 28 candidate Ann Fields.
The packed restaurant heard about issues ranging from healthcare and education to balancing the budget and having the state government work for everyone. Hubbell tells KNIA/KRLS News he wants to reset the state government’s focus back to the people
“We want to have a common sense government that balances the budget with the right priorities, investing in education and healthcare. The money is there, it’s just being given away to the big corporations and wealthy individuals rather than using it for the people who can grow our economies.”
Fields tells KNIA/KRLS News Hubbell is running a statewide campaign, but he is focused on the same local issues as she is
“When Hubbell talks about values, he talks about local Iowa values and these kind of places is where it begins. He is working with the residents of House District 28 to bring our concerns to the capital and then work for us.”
Senator Hart tells KNIA/KRLS News she doesn’t have any issue reaching across the aisle to cooperate with the Republican party, as she thinks everyone can relate to wanting to make the state a better place to live.
