The Pleasantville softball and baseball squads had a pivotal Pride of Iowa Conference matchup against Martensdale-St. Marys last night and came out with a split.

The softball team peppered 11 hits to leave town with an 8-3 victory. The game was tied at 3-3 heading into the third inning when the Trojans put up four runs in the fourth and tacked on one more in the fifth to put the game to bed. Andie Sowers went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI. Jessica Remster had a three run double as the designated hitter. Abby DeJoode got the win in the circle going the distance giving up seven hits and two earned runs. Pleasantville has won seven of eight ball games to improve to 15-9.

The baseball team didn’t have as good as luck with the Blue Devils falling 6-1. Kyle Amendt got the loss on the bump throwing five innings of five hit ball and giving up three earned runs. Pleasantville drops to 15-8 on the season.

Both teams will get back at it tomorrow hosting Wayne.
