The 2018 Coal Miner’s Day celebration begins tonight in Melcher-Dallas.

Now in its 43rd year, the Coal Miner’s Day celebration is held annually to keep the coal mining heritage alive in the community. Celebrations begin this evening with carnival rides and fireworks on the city square, while tomorrow will have a 5k run beginning at 9am, a parade, contests, and music. The event will also include different vendors, an inflatable carnival, kids games, live entertainment at the gazebo, and a fire department raffle drawing.
