The Pleasantville baseball team had a unique road trip to Principal Park in Des Moines on Monday and fell to Iowa City Liberty 5-3.

Both teams scratched across a run in the first including the Trojans scoring on a groundout by Quintin Berglund that plated Grant Fouch. The turning point came in the third when the Lightning added three runs and one more in the fourth to take a lead they never relinquished. Pleasantville made a push in the final inning getting a pair of RBI from Berglund and Cael Lester but came up short in the end. Colton Major took the loss on the mound going 3 1/3 innings and giving up four earned runs. Berglund finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk and Fouch added a pair of hits.

The Trojans fall to 17-9 and look to bounce back tonight at Central Decatur. The softball team had their doubleheader rained out last night and will also face the Cardinals this evening.
