The Knoxville Raceway, fans, and the World of Outlaws drivers paid tribute to recently deceased driver and 2016 Knoxville Nationals champion Jason Johnson this weekend.
A tribute video was played, a 41 seconds of silence were in honor of his racing number, and the outlaws performed the missing man formation. Raceway historian Eric Arnold said on Live Trackside heard live on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA Johnson was a great champion, but an even better person because he was a great family man who worked hard and always was willing to give up his time to help someone else out. Johnson died from injuries sustained in a crash at Beaver Dam Raceway in Wisconsin.
