The Marion County Community Foundation Board of Directors has announced that 56 grants were fully or partially funded by the Marion County Community Foundation in 2018.
The foundation received just under $300,000 in requests for grants, and were able to fund $179,398 to provide philanthropic support for community betterment projects in all of Marion County. The organizations that received grants serve all areas of the county and go towards residents from preschool age to senior citizens. Among the larger grants awarded included $13,000 to the Bussey Fire Department for a self contained breathing apparatus, $10,000 to Otley Reformed Church for a playground, and $9,000 to the Melcher-Dallas Coal Mining Museum for structural repairs.
