Ballard scored eight runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally for a 9-4 victory over the Pella High baseball team last night.
The comeback put a damper on Senior Night for the Little Dutch, and also spoiled six strong innings on the mound from Ben Akers.  He allowed just one run on five hits while striking out two and walking none.
Jaden Rolffs’ first inning sacrifice fly scored fellow senior Avery Van Zee to give Pella the early lead, and Kamden Lambert later added a pair of RBI singles before the Bombers battled back.
Pella drops to 15-13 on the season, and after taking today off for the holiday, they’ll continue a busy week tomorrow night at Washington.
