Activities for the 8th annual Red Rock Balloonfest begin this evening.
The first of four balloon launches is scheduled at 6:30 p.m., with pilots set to soar over the Red Rock Dam. Jill Vande Voort with the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau tells KNIA/KRLS News the event is a collaboration between Pella, Knoxville, and the Red Rock area, and celebrates what the lake has to offer. She says the best place to watch balloons is at North Overlook Beach, where food stands and entertainment will be held throughout the weekend.
