The Pleasantville softball team is coming off of a Pride of Iowa Conference championship season and all signs point to that success not going anywhere.
The 22-11 Trojans bring back a lot of experience for 2019 only losing two players to graduation. Nine of the top 10 hitters are back and five of the top six are either freshmen or sophomores. Amber McKinney busted onto the scene in her freshman campaign, finishing third in the POI with 53 hits and 38 runs knocked in. McKinney led the team with a .500 batting average. Both pitchers will return with Abby DeJoode carrying a 2.85 ERA and freshman Faith Vanderhart had a 5.39 ERA.
The Trojans will look for a different conference banner next year when they transition into the West Central Conference.
