To the victor go the spoils. That was the case for the Pride of Iowa Conference Champion Pleasantville softball team, as seven players were named to the all-conference list.
The Trojans had three players named to the first team including Abby DeJoode, Andie Sowers, and Josie Sowers. DeJoode had the bulk of the work in the circle with 115 1/3 innings pitched and a 2.85 ERA. Andie Sowers was a shutdown shortstop in her senior campaign and knocked in 27 runs while supporting a .459 batting average. Freshman Josie Sowers was selected as a centerfielder and had a .461 batting average.
Second teamers included Faith Vanderhart who had a .357 batting average, Makenzie McGriff with a .358 BA and a team-high 40 RBI, Taylor Foley with a .306 BA, and Amber McKinney with a team-high .500 batting average. Head Coach Jan Haugen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports up and down the lineup they were dangerous, noting that all nine starters had a .300 batting average or better.
The Trojans finished the year 22-11.
