The Top 10 countdown continues for Pleasantville sports for 2017-18 with number two.
A veteran Trojan football team in 2017 led to a lot of success on the gridiron and it showed in the first round of the playoffs in a 32-13 win over West Branch.
Going up against a team with rich tradition and invading one of the toughest places to play in the state in the Little Rose Bowl, the Trojans had their work cut out for them. However, Pleasantville wasn’t having it. From start to finish the Trojans controlled the contest and gave the Bears their largest home loss in nine years. As he was all year long, Hunter Tyree was unstoppable in the run game rushing for 222 yards on 18 carries and cashing in on three touchdowns. He also got it done on defense recording an interception. Owen Worthington finished seven of 16 through the air for 46 yards. The Trojans held the Bears to under 250 yards of total offense.
The Trojans advanced to the quarterfinals where they fell to Pella Christian and finished the year 8-3.
