Pella Historical Society moved their annual Kermis festival to the Historical Village with great success over the weekend.
Assistant Director Allison Limke tells KNIA/KRLS News numerous families enjoyed the event that included free games, contests, Dutch food, and more. Limke says they moved Kermis from Thursdays in Pella to the Historical Village to bring people closer to the community’s rich history.
“We really wanted to make the village a central focus of it,” she says. “It’s so easily hidden behind the Vermeer Windmill, which we love, but a lot of people don’t know what a treasure we have right behind it.”
During the festival, Miffy of Miffy and Friends joined activities in the morning, which included the bunny reading to children, and 50 free books about Miffy handed out to kids in attendance.
