Numerous Pleasantville baseball players turned some heads this past season with dazzling performances and a few have found themselves in the record books for all-time in the state.
In a 22-6 win over Colo-NESCO on June 9th senior Colton Major was a big reason for the offensive outbreak knocking in nine runs on the day with three hits and a walk. That is the fifth most RBI in a single game for an individual in Iowa history. Quintin Berglund had his way with Mount Ayr batters back on May 25th striking out 19 batters, that is also the fifth most ever recorded. The junior accomplished that feat in just 96 pitches with no walks and three hits given up. In the 4-0 win for Pleasantville, the Trojans had 18 strikeouts of their own. The 37 strikeouts combined made the record books for most in a game for both teams, sitting at fourth all time.
Pleasantville finished the year 23-12.
