Brad Sweet has won the 58th Annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals, presented by Casey’s General Store.
The race finished on a green-white-checkered shootout after a red flag stopped the action on lap 48. Sweet edged 10-time champion Donny Schatz over the final two laps, capping a dominant A-Main, in which he led 48 of the 50 laps. The race to the checkered was the 2nd closest finish since electronic timing started, as the margin of victory of Sweet over Schatz was 0.133 seconds.
According to Knoxville Raceway, a sellout crowd of 21,135 was in attendance for the biggest night in the world of sprint car racing.
AM 1320, FM 95.3 KNIA was once again the local voice of the 58th annual Knoxville Nationals, with live play-by-play and coverage from Knoxville Raceway, the Sprint Car Capital of the World, for every night of action.
