Fans got their first peek at the 2018 season for the Pleasantville and PCM volleyball teams last night, as they met up in Pleasantville for a scrimmage.
The area schools battled for 60 minutes without keeping score and both coaches were pleased with the outcome. Head Coach of the Mustangs Alex Samson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports she views her team as a scrappy bunch. “We dug out a few balls that I think they thought were down so that’s promising to see. Our serve receive was on board and our hits were mostly in so it was a good preview to the season.”
After a shaky start, head coach of the Trojans Joel Allman thought the team came together at the end. “At first we were a little jittery treating it like a game, but I thought we progressed into doing some nice things the last 20 minutes.”
PCM will officially kick off the season on Tuesday at Newton while Pleasantville will host Earlham the same day.
