The Pleasantville and PCM football teams got the season underway last night battling in a scrimmage.
The young Trojan team has been working to get up to par with the speed of varsity and they have been doing it while learning a new offense. New Head Coach Mack Jorth tells KNIA/KRLS Sports having a new system is always worrisome because you aren’t sure how ready you are for the first game and that this week is critical in continuing to improve and fine tune everything. Leading up to Friday’s opener an experienced Mustang squad is looking to polish up the special teams. The Mustangs bring back most of their 7-2 team in 2017 but head coach Greg Bonnett says something they are searching for is a kicker.
Pleasantville will open their season Friday hosting Lynnville-Sully while the Mustangs travel to Newton.
