Widespread rainfall is possible through this evening in most of the state.
According to the National Weather Service, a total of 1-3” of precipitation is possible throughout most of Iowa, with the heaviest amounts expected today along and north of I-80. Light rain is more likely to fall in south central Iowa.

Today’s rainfall will be welcome news for many, as moderate drought conditions have returned to most of Marion County and the surrounding area, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report.
