The PCM Mustangs will hit the gridiron tonight against fellow Jasper County foe the Newton Cardinals.
The Mustangs will look to get the 2018 season of with a win after a disappointing end to 2017 falling to eventual runner up Williamsburg. The Cardinals, a class 4A team a year ago will look to establish themselves as the best Jasper County team while trying to take down the 5th ranked team in Class 2A. PCM is loaded with 19 seniors returning from last season who will begin the season with their sights set sorely on the UNI Dome. Tonight’s game could resemble a Big 12 college game as PCM’s offense averaged 44 points a game last season only to be out done by the Cardinals who put up 45 per contest last season as well. The Mustangs and Cardinals will get things kicked off tonight from H. A. Lynn Stadium in Newton at 7:30 p.m. with pregame set for 7 p.m. Nathan Sage and Jeff Lindsey will have the call on kniakrls.com via our KRLS3 stream.
