Former Pleasantville softball standout Chelsea Thomas was recently named to the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame.
The 2008 Pleasantville High graduate was a dominant force in the circle for the Trojans, garnering all-conference and all-state honors in three different seasons. She led the Trojans to state appearances in her junior and senior year while compiling a minuscule 0.23 ERA in 2008. That success easily transitioned to the next level, as she led Missouri to national prominence from 2009-2013. Thomas is the only Tiger softball player to be named first-team All-American three times and also win conference pitcher of the year three times. Missouri reached the Women’s College World Series in each of her first three seasons and Thomas set numerous school records along the way including career wins (111), strikeouts (1,174), no-hitters (10) and perfect games (4). The 2013 graduate also excelled in the classroom being named academic all-conference three times and a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American recognition in 2012.
Thomas is one of six members that will be inducted into the school’s 28th Hall of Fame class. She will be formally inducted on Friday, October 19th and will also be recognized at the Missouri homecoming football game.
