The 8th annual Nana Jana 5K Fun Run is set for September 22nd, to help raise awareness for ovarian cancer.
The run will take place at Dan-D Farms, and is organized by owner Dan Dennison, who lost his wife to ovarian cancer, and his daughter Debra Kearney. Dennison tells KNIA/KRLS News the event is for everyone to have a good time for an important cause.
“There are people who come back year after year and it feels like a reunion of sorts. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the 5k, and even if you want to come have a good time there is plenty of good food, good coffee, and it’s a way to enjoy good people supporting a good cause”.
The run begins at 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 8 a.m. at the Dennison farm five miles south of Knoxville on Highway 14. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be at the event playing music and making announcements. Those registered before September 12th will receive a t-shirt, but registration will be taken up to the morning of the event. For more information on how to register, click below.
