Another week, another dominating win for Pella in a 35-6 blowout of Mt. Pleasant, as heard live on KRLS2 at kniakrls.com.
While some miscues and penalties kept the Dutch from pulling away earlier than they would have liked, Pella scored 28 points from the last 1:10 in the 2nd half to the end of the 3rd quarter.
Head Coach Jay McKinstrey was impressed with the heart shown by the team to work through the errors.
“I just really liked the way our kids played tonight,” he says. “We made a lot of mistakes in the first half, but, our kids really played hard, with great passion, heart, enthusiasm, and there was a lot of good pad-cracking going on tonight.”
Aaron Downs finished with 129 total yards and five touchdowns–including nine catches, Ryan Gustafson was 17=for-22 with 248 yards with 4 scores thrown to Downs, and Logan Shetterly collected 7 catches for 127 yards.
The 2-0 Little Dutch have former district foe Norwalk on the docket next Friday
