A Melcher-Dallas man was arrested on theft charges Saturday.
According to court records, a burglary was reported in rural Knoxville in early August where over $2,000 worth of property was reported stolen. Several weeks later law enforcement made contact with Curtis Skeens, who stated he took and sold scrap acquired from a friend, but was unable to provide the name of the friend. Skeens ultimately admitted the scrap items came from the scene of the burglary, with several of the items sold, and several tools recovered and returned. Skeens was charged with theft in the second degree, a class D felony.
