Just call them the comeback kids. The first win of 2018 didn’t come easy for the Pleasantville football team but a second half rally propelled the Trojans over Earlham last night 20-17.
The Trojans trailed 10-0 at the break but the defense came up big with a pair of goal line stops to keep the game within reach. Earlham made a statement coming out of halftime with a touchdown drive to push the lead to 17-0. While some teams may call it a night down three scores, the Trojans put their hard hats on and went to work. A 45-yard kickoff return by Triston Mount was the spark Pleasantville needed, as three scoring drives followed. Cael Lester was a beast in the second half scoring all three of the touchdowns finishing with 148 yards on the night. Head Coach Mack Jorth tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the character his team showed to come back was tremendous.
Pleasantville gets in the win column for the first time improving to 1-2 while Earlham drops to 1-2. The Trojans will hope for a snowball effect next week when they travel to Albia.
