Melcher-Dallas was all set to welcome Baxter into Saints Field on Friday night. However the weeks’ worth of rain made the Saints field unplayable…so they moved the game to Baxter. Coach Bart Elliott was a bit concerned at first, but his team assured him early and often they were not affected in a 52-0 rout of the Bolts. The Saints made sure lightening did not even have a chance to strike as the Saints running game finally got going, with Joe Branson and Dalton Lovell carrying the load, and Elliott said the defense played well in a shutout. The Saints are one-and-two on the season and will travel to eight-man newcomer and former 11-man power Gladbrook-Reinbeck next week.
