Three area schools ran at the Oskaloosa Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday. For the girls, Knoxville was the only team that scored placing 11th led by Mickayla McGill in a time of 24:05.8. Pella Christian’s girls had three runners on varsity, including Annaliese Admiraal, who was 27th in the individual field with a 22:48.7 race, followed by Sydney Hooyer (43rd, 23:43) and Annika Terpstra (25:46.5, 73rd). Twin Cedars had two runners competing with Brooke Roby crossing the finish line 85th and Grace Bailey right behind in 86th. The Eagles boys placed 13th in the field of 17 teams, mostly made up of 3A schools. Daniel Mora Demestri paced P.C. with a 31st place finish (19:11.1), followed by Lucas Bandstra (45th, 19:28.3) and Brayton Juffer (70th, 20:11). Knoxville finished 14th with Jordan Bacon leading the way in 32nd in a time of 19:15.9. The Eagles and Sabers return to action Thursday at the Lynnville-Sully invitational along the Diamond Trail Golf Course, Knoxville travels to Newton next Tuesday.
