A celebration Monday evening will mark the re-opening of Knoxville’s first winery at a new location.
Nearwood Winery and Vineyards will host a ribbon cutting with the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors at 5 o’clock; they’re located at 1699 Highway 14, about two miles south of town.
The company is a family-run business which grows its own grapes and processes its own wines; it also has space for weddings, receptions and other events.
Nearwood will also host a stakeholder’s open house on Saturday, September 29th from 1 to 3 p.m. with live music and free wine tasting for those who helped support the start-up of the business.
Monday’s ribbon cutting is open to the general public.
