A new nationals event, an earlier World of Outlaws weekend, and a bye week in the middle of the schedule highlight the 2019 Knoxville Raceway schedule. Opening night is April 13th while June first is McKay Insurance Night, plus it is also National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. The World of Outlaws weekend is June 14th and 15th, a couple weeks earlier than in previous seasons. Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame night is June 22nd, then a rare bye week where there is not racing on June 29th. That is the weekend of the Jackson Nationals in Minnesota to allow raceway drivers to compete at that event. The first weekend in July has the newest event to the raceway calendar, the Corn Belt Nationals. This is a two-night show that will bring in the best non-wing drivers from around the nation featuring USAC National Sprint Car Drivers and Power-I Lucas Oil Sprint Series. Southern Iowa Sprint Week will begin August first with the 29th Annual 360 Nationals, Capitani Classic on August fourth, the 59th Annual Knoxville Nationals August 7th-10th. The 16th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals will be September 12th-14th. Reporting for KNIA/KRLS Sports, I’m Derek Cardwell.
