The Eagles football team is looking for a fresh start in district play tonight after a rigorous first four weeks of the 2018 season.
Pella Christian went 2-2 in non-district action, and were 1-2 against teams that have at one point this season been ranked No. 1 in their respective classes, with their only losses coming to current No. 1 in 1A Van Meter and No. 1 in 2A PCM. Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they can’t be quick to overlook speedy Woodward Academy, who is off to a 2-2 start.
“We’ve played some fast teams, but [the Knights] have some fast guys,” he says. “So we better keep leverage on them defensively, and offensively we better go to work and do our assignments.”
“We have to negate their speed–and we have good speed too, so I think the match up is good.”
Coverage from Eagle Lane begins at 6:30 p.m. on the KRLS2 stream at KNIAKRLS.com, with Andrew Schneider and Larry Hessing calling the action that starts at 7:00.
