16 schools including four from Marion County will run in the Knoxville Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday. The event which is held at Pine Knolls Country Club has become one of the premier midseason running events for high school team in the area. Knoxville Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this meet always give runners an idea of how the state meet might feel like with around 1,000 spectators and the feeling after it is all over with. The middle school races are scheduled to get underway at around four-15.
