The Pleasantville boys’ cross country team has seen steady improvements throughout the year and a big reason why has been the emergence of freshman Devon Luing.
Luing has adjusted well to the high school ranks, having led the Trojans in numerous races including placing 11th at their home meet earlier this month in 18:58. Head Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the sky is the limit for the youngster.
“He is going to give everything he has every time he runs. He just needs to continue to get stronger but I think he sees now the ability he has and that will make him more motivated in the offseason. He has improved a lot the last few weeks and I expect that trend to continue.”
Luing and his teammates will get back on the course Thursday at Chariton.
