Another weekend of improvement showed for the Pella Christian volleyball team at their home tournament Saturday.
The Eagles went 3-1, defeating Grand View Christian (21-10, 21-9), Knoxville (21-16, 14-21, 15-13), and Iowa Valley (21-15, 21-12), while falling to No. 8 in Class 4A Bondurant Farrar 2-0 in the finals (10-21, 13-21).
Serving was solid in the clash between the Eagles and Panthers, with 95.9% of them hitting the mark for P.C> and 11 service aces, including 5 from Molly Bolt and 4 from Cora Groenenboom, while Knoxville was 50 of 51.
Throughout the day, Pella Christian’s statistical leaders were:
Danielle Vande Voort – 22 kills, 8 total blocks
Cora Groenenboom – 10 service aces
Molly Bolt – 9 service aces
Emma Huisman – 56 assists
Knoxville went 1-3 overall, defeating Grandview Christian (21-14, 21-19), dropping the match to P.C., as well as falling in a really close match to Iowa Valley 2-1 (21-14, 17-21, 14-16) and to Bondurant (15-21, 14-21).

Pella Christian, now and 12-12, returns to action Tuesday at No. 5 in 4A Dallas Center-Grimes, while the 11-7 Panthers will host Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont that same evening.
