After yet another weather related cancellation, Pella found a new place to run Tuesday night when they competed in the Williamsburg Invitational.
The No. 6 in 3A Lady Dutch showed the progress of their process of training, and won the team title, scoring 33 points, with No. 4 in 2A WIlliamsburg placing 2nd at 45 points and No. 5 in 3A Solon at 59 team points. Pella’s Caroline McMartin was the meet medalist, running sub 20 minutes at 19:45, with Makayla Kruse in 5th at 20:33, followed closely by Abby Cutler in 6th at 20:37 and an 8th place finish from Brooke Jorgensen at 20:41.
No. 14 in 3A Pella’s boys claimed 2nd place as they return to full strength, placing nine points (39) behind 1st place winner and No. 2 in Class 2A Tipton (30) and 41 points ahead of No. 13 Williamsburg (80). Josian Wittenburg paced the Dutch with a 3rd place finish at 17:27, followed by Drew Van Hauen in 4th at 17:31, Cutler Turner in 7th at 17:37, and and 8th place finish by Mason Johnston at 17:40.
