A man from Knoxville is facing numerous charges, after police arrested him Thursday on a warrant charging him with counts ranging from domestic abuse to witness tampering.
26-year-old Tanner Cole was taken into custody by Knoxville police after they searched the basement of a residence, and reported finding him there.
Police say he was being sought in connection with an incident September 19th; he reportedly came into his ex-girlfriend’s residence, attacked her, damaged property and would not let her leave. She was eventually able to escape and went to the police station to report Cole.
She told police Cole had previously contacted her about a prior incident, texting her and urging her to lie on the stand about a prior incident. A no contact order had been issued against Cole.
He faces counts including domestic abuse assault, witness tampering, false imprisonment, burglary, two counts of criminal mischief, violating a no contact order, four counts of contempt for failure to appear in court, and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
