The Trojan football team may have lost Friday night’s game to Pella Christian, but it was a bigger than football type of night in Pleasantville, as they held a pink out game.
The Trojans wore special pink uniforms to honor the fight against cancer and they were purchased in memory of Kim Friday, a beloved member of the community who passed away in March. Friday was active in Pleasantville, including being a big part of the Pleasantville Athletic Booster Club. Head Coach Mack Jorth tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it was a great tribute to make on senior night.
“Robert Friday, who is an employee of the district, wanted to take our cancer awareness game to the next level with the uniforms because his wife Kim was such a huge supporter of that cause. I think this was a great tribute to her and really made the cancer awareness game a bigger and better event.”
All donations from the contest went to the American Cancer Society.
