Cale Anthony and Cael Lester both eclipsed 100 yards rushing last night in the Pleasantville Trojans demolishing of Woodward-Granger 27-7 to pick up a homecoming victory.
The Hawks were 4-2 coming into the game and fighting for a potential playoff spot, which meant the game was a must-win. Woodward-Granger started off the scoring with an 85-yard run from fullback Gabe Yingst, but it was all Pleasantville after that. Cale Anthony scored a on 38 and 5 yard touchdown runs for the Trojans to take a 14-7 lead at the half. Anthony would find paydirt again after he recovered a missed Hawks option pitch in the endzone, while Lester would score on a 2-yard run that put the game away. Lester led the way with a 124 yard rushing performance with the touchdown, while Anthony had 117 on the ground with a pair of scores and the defensive recovery. Head coach Mack Jorth tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he was happy his guys got to experience a win on homecoming. The Trojans improve to 2-5 on the season, and will head to undefeated I-35 next Friday.
