After a lackluster first half, a scoring explosion in the second half led the Simpson Storm football team to a homecoming win over Coe College 29-7 Saturday in a game heard live on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA.

The game started off slow, with a total of 10 punts in the first half, and Simpson scoring the only points off of a 37 yard field goal 1:19 before halftime as the Storm led 3-0 at the break. Coe College took their only lead of the game in the third quarter after a rushing touchdown, but that score broke the drought for the Storm offense, as they put up 26 unanswered from then on to pick up the win. Cam Bunting had a pair of rushing touchdowns, and the Storm defense held the Cohawks to just 4-18 on third down conversions. Simpson improves to 4-1 on the season, and 3-0 in American Rivers Conference play, and sets up a battle for the conference lead with undefeated Central on Saturday.
