No injuries are reported at a car fire which broke out in the parking lot of a gas station in Knoxville.

The fire started shortly after 10 o’clock at the Knoxville 66 in the 300 block of West Pleasant Street; Lt. Aaron Fuller of the Knoxville Police Department tells KNIA/KRLS News he was the first to arrive on the scene, and saw flames coming from under the hood.

“I deployed my fire extinguisher, tried to put the fire out to no avail,” Fuller says. “A Good Samaritan, Judd Nelson, came to my aid and also attempted to put the fire out using the fire extinguisher from Knoxville 66…which also did not work. The fire department got here and quickly extinguished the fire.”

The car was parked in front of the store, well away from the gas pumps; there was no damage to the store front.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
