No. 7 Pella held serve on their home court by defeating Carlisle 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-10) Tuesday night in the volleyball regional semifinals.

Pella got off to fast starts in each of their three victorious sets, but struggled out of the gates in set two, before nearly coming back. Head Coach Catie Brand tells KRLS Sports the run they made at the end of that frame carried over to come back from a seven-point deficit gave them needed momentum to finish.

“Even when we huddled at the end of set two, we didn’t win that set, but we didn’t feel defeated,” she says.

Emily Holterhaus had 32 kills, and Jenna Schulte and Natalie Clayberg each had 11. Kalin Valster and Maddy Rempe both had three of the team’s 13 service aces.

The Lady Dutch will host the 4A Regional final for the 4th straight season against Clear Creek Amana, who swept Osky.
