The postseason is here for the Pella Christian football team and they will look to extend their season at least one more week tonight, when they make the haul to Wilton to face the Beavers in the first round of the class 1A playoffs.

Pella Christian (6-3) is coming off of a hard fought 21-18 loss to Interstate-35 in week nine. Despite the loss costing the Eagles a district title, the daunting non-district schedule helped them have a high RPI and qualify for the postseason. In order for the Eagles to bounce back tonight head coach Rich Kacmarynski tells KRLS Sports they need to contain Wilton’s playmaking quarterback Jerome Mays.

“They are a spread team and their quarterback is quite a bit of their offense. He is not very big but he is quick and we must contain his speed.”

Mays has thrown for over 1,000 yards and rushed for 500 more in the regular season to lead the Beavers to an 8-1 record. The chance to keep the season alive gets started at 7 p.m. this evening in Wilton. Tune into the KRLS2 Stream at kniakrls.com to listen to the broadcast starting at 6:30 p.m.
