For those who can’t wait until Election Day, absentee ballots are still being taken weekdays and Saturday from now through next Monday.

Voters may come to the Marion County Courthouse each day except Sunday to vote early for Tuesday’s general election; County Auditor Jake Grandia tells KNIA/KRLS News he and his staff are making every effort to ensure those who want to vote get the opportunity.

“We are also going to be continuing absentee voting here at the courthouse; we are no longer allowed to mail absentee ballots out, but we will be voting absentee here at the courthouse, Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4:30 and this coming Saturday, 8:00 to 5:00. So, lots of opportunities to participate,” Grandia says.

This year the state is phasing in its voter ID requirement; voters will be requested to present identification, but it’s not mandatory.

And Grandia says anyone with questions about where to cast their ballot on Election Day, or who have any special needs which need accommodation, may contact his office with any questions.
