Historic Pella Trust is welcoming a Central College alumnus and state historian to the organization’s annual heritage celebration and membership meeting.

Dave Baker, now residing in Ankeny, will host a program titled “In the Details” on Thursday, November 8th at 7 p.m.

Baker tells KRLS News he has photographed hundreds of communities in Iowa, both those currently incorporated, and hundreds of ghost towns and relics of Iowa’s past, and posted them on his website iowathe29thstate.com and on a Facebook blog.

He started the project in 2009 while studying history at Central College.

Also during the meeting, Historic Pella Trust will recognize their annual preservation and historic landmark award winners. The event is free to attend, with doors opening for social time at 6:30 p.m. on November 8th.
