A Des Moines man has been charged with burglary after breaking into a home.

According to court records, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was called out to a residence for a violation of a no-contact order, and it was reported that 26-year-old David Charles Williams had broken into the residence and taken several items while also storing several stolen items at the residence including a purse. Williams also removed a door-jam and jammed open a basement window to facilitate further break-ins. Williams is charged with burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and since the owner of the residence was hearing-impaired he was also charged with criminal mischief in the 4th degree – hate crime, an aggravated misdemeanor.
