It’ll be a battle of area teams tonight in Monroe, as the PCM girls’ basketball team welcomes Knoxville to town.

The Mustangs are coming off of an impressive 57-36 win over Chariton to open the year on Saturday. Lilli Baird and Regan Freland combined for 38 of their 57 points. This is the season opener for the Panthers, who are coming off of a 16-7 campaign last year. The Panthers have plenty of experience coming back including their top two scorers in Katie Keitges and Maggie Wilkins averaging 20 and 12 points per game, respectively.

The battle for area bragging rights gets started at 7 p.m. at PCM High School.
