A pancake breakfast with Santa Claus coming up in December is not just for the kids at the day care center sponsoring it, but for the community as a whole.
Breakfast with Santa will be held on Saturday, December 1st from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Dyer-Hudson Hall in Knoxville. It’s sponsored by Stepping Stones Early Learning Center, with breakfast to be served by the Knoxville Morning Kiwanis Club.
Keri Garrison is director of Stepping Stones; she tells KNIA/KRLS News they switched over from hosting a 5K race a few years ago to this event, so as to make it more accessible to family members of all ages.
“Getting people in the community, that’s what we were looking at about five years ago, looking for an event that can be community-based; so we came up with Breakfast with Santa,” Garrison says. “We encourage all families to come out, have a great time, see Santa, eat some pancakes, play some games, do some crafts and have a great time with the family.”
All proceeds from the event go towards buying new equipment for the center; Garrison says there is great demand in the area for child care, and they want to be able to provide the best service they can for the children in their care.
Admission to Breakfast with Santa is $6 per person; you can get tickets in advance from Stepping Stones, or pay at the door.
