A widespread winter storm impacted most of south central Iowa Sunday.
A blizzard warning was in place in Marion County, Warren County, and most of the region as heavy snow and gusty winds hit many local communities. According to snowfall reports from the National Weather Service, many areas received anywhere from three inches to over a foot of snow, with the highest amounts along and south of Highway 92 in South Central Iowa. Several county and Iowa DOT plows have worked for hours to clear most area roadways, which may remain hazardous as snow continues to blow over those highways.
KNIA/KRLS was on the air with several updates throughout the day, including information about local snow emergencies, winter weather advisories, cancellations and delays, and tow bans issued.
