Multiple citations were given for the city’s snow ordinance, but Pella officers and personnel responded to no major incidents in the Pella city limits relating to Sunday’s blizzard.

Pella Police Chief Robert Bokinsky reports 64 tickets were written for violations related to cars parked on streets or in city parking lots during the snow emergency issued Sunday night. In Pella, approximately three inches of snow fell from the mid-morning until just after noon. Much heavier snow was reported to the south and east of the Tulip City, with some areas of the county receiving well over a foot of snow.
