Even though her term on the Marion County Board of Supervisors has yet to begin, Kisha Jahner is getting up to speed on matters affecting the county so she’ll be ready to step in when the time comes.

Jahner has been in attendance at board meetings for about a year, and is already well-versed in most of the issues facing Marion County. She tells KNIA/KRLS News so far there hasn’t been anything unexpected in the additional data she’s received so far.

“I am not completely privy to all the information yet, it’s just starting to come about; but nothing has been really surprising,” Jahner says. “As we go…the first of the year we’ll start looking at budgets and everything, and that’s when I think that I’ll be able to see a lot more.”

Although she’ll be the first woman ever to serve on the board, Jahner doesn’t think of herself as a pioneer; she says her focus will be on serving all the people of Marion County, and she is more interested in doing the job well.
