The PCM basketball teams made the trek to Alleman last night to face North Polk and came out with a split.

The Mustang girls’ dug themselves a 24-6 hole at the end of the first quarter and could never fully recover en route to a 52-33 defeat. PCM started to settle in during the second quarter and got within 13 in the second half but never got closer than arms length. The boys’ got out to a quick 7-0 lead on the Comets and battled back and forth in the first half to lead 40-30 at the break. The defense cranked it up in the second half and allowed the Mustangs to blow the game open for a 78-52 victory. Reed Worth and Andrew Van Ryswyk were spectacular with 24 and 23 points, respectively. Jason Stafford chipped in with 12 points. PCM improves to 2-1 on the young season.
