The Pleasantville School District is making grief counselors available to students at all three of its schools, following the apparent suicide of a Pleasantville High School student on Tuesday evening.

Superintendent Tony Aylsworth tells KNIA/KRLS News that staff recognize the incident will be troubling for students; with school still closed, counselors are available today at the Webb Shadle Memorial Library.

The same support services will be available on all the campuses beginning tomorrow, as school re-opens following the holiday break; these counselors will be on hand until further notice.

The district is requesting that any questions about this matter be directed to the school at (515) 848-0541.
