Simpson College is hosting a Youth Basketball Night event on January 2nd, with all Indianola Basketball Association athletes able to enter free of charge.

The kids will be recognized at halftime, and be able to meet Simpson Basketball players and coaches after the game and receive autographs. Athletic Director Bob Nutgrass tells KNIA News the night benefits the visiting kids and the student athletes at Simpson.

“It’s good exposure for the youth basketball leagues to be able to come to our gym and see the basketball games, and we obviously like it because it helps to fill up our gym a little bit when most of our students are one break. But we really like it when our students can become a part of the community, and that is what we try to impart on them here at Simpson.”

The women’s game begins at 6pm, and the men’s game at 8pm in Cowles Fieldhouse on the Simpson College Campus.
